Ingredients
- 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 8–10 ounces each)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: a drizzle of honey or maple syrup for serving
- Optional: a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts for added texture
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and prick them several times with a fork.
- 3. Place sweet potatoes directly on the oven rack (with a baking sheet below to catch drips) and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until tender.
- 4. While potatoes bake, combine softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a small bowl until well mixed.
