Description

Bite-sized savory delights featuring seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese encased in fluffy, golden biscuit dough. An easy and satisfying appetizer or main meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheddar-jack blend)
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough (810 count)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off excess grease thoroughly.
  2. 2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3. Stir in ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. 4. Remove from heat, stir in shredded cheese until melted. Let cool slightly for 5-10 minutes.
  5. 5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. 6. Separate or cut biscuit dough into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion slightly.
  7. 7. Place 1-2 tablespoons of beef mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit.
  8. 8. Bring biscuit edges up and pinch firmly to seal, forming a ball.
  9. 9. Place bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. 10. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
  11. 11. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  12. 12. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store cooled biscuit bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in a 325°F (160°C) oven or toaster oven for 10-15 minutes until warmed through and slightly crisped. They can also be frozen baked and cooled, wrapped individually, and reheated from frozen at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
