Description
Whip up this quick and delicious Easy BBQ Chicken Flatbread Recipe for a weeknight meal or appetizer. Simple ingredients, minimal fuss, and maximum flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (12- to 14-inch) pre-made flatbread or pizza crust (such as naan, pita, or a pre-baked pizza base)
- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut)
- ½ cup your favorite BBQ sauce (plus more for drizzling, if desired)
- ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (or a blend)
- ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- Optional: A drizzle of ranch dressing or a squeeze of lime juice for serving
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- 2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the ½ cup of BBQ sauce. Stir until the chicken is well coated.
- 3. Place the pre-made flatbread or pizza crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly onto your preheated pizza stone.
- 4. Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the flatbread, leaving a small border.
- 5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the chicken and sauce. Scatter the thinly sliced red onion over the cheese.
- 6. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, then sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Add an optional drizzle of BBQ sauce or ranch dressing. Slice and serve.
Notes
Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or oven for best results to maintain crispiness.
