Description

Bite-sized pieces of salmon coated in panko breadcrumbs and fried until crispy, then tossed in a creamy, sweet, and spicy Bang Bang sauce. A crowd-pleasing appetizer or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil or neutral cooking oil, for frying
  • For the Bang Bang Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • For Garnish (optional):
  • Chopped fresh chives or green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the Salmon: Pat dry, remove skin, and cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. 2. Set Up Breading Stations:
  3. – Dish 1: Flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne.
  4. – Dish 2: Eggs and milk, whisked.
  5. – Dish 3: Panko breadcrumbs.
  6. 3. Bread the Salmon: Dredge each salmon piece in flour, then egg wash, then panko breadcrumbs, pressing to coat. Place on a plate.
  7. 4. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: Whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, and lime juice in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  8. 5. Fry the Salmon Bites: Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry salmon bites in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. 6. Drain and Sauce: Remove fried bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Gently toss the warm bites in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
  10. 7. Serve: Arrange on a platter, garnish with chives/green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Reheat in an air fryer or oven for best crispiness. Avoid microwaving. Sauce separately if possible before reheating.
