Description

Enjoy these incredibly Crispy Air Fryer Honey Butter Garlic Chicken Tenders. A delicious and easy weeknight meal or appetizer, ready in under 30 minutes with less oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenders
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Honey Butter Garlic Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Pat chicken tenders dry. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour mixture (flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper), one with whisked eggs and milk, and one with panko breadcrumbs tossed with olive oil.
  2. 2. Dredge each chicken tender first in the flour, then in the egg wash, and finally coat well in the panko mixture. Place coated tenders in a single layer on a plate.
  3. 3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. 4. Arrange chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C internal temperature).
  5. 5. While chicken cooks, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. 6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. 7. Remove cooked chicken tenders from air fryer and toss immediately in the warm sauce until coated.
  8. 8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 4-6 minutes for best crispiness.
