- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- For the Honey Butter Garlic Sauce:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Pat chicken tenders dry. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour mixture (flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper), one with whisked eggs and milk, and one with panko breadcrumbs tossed with olive oil.
- 2. Dredge each chicken tender first in the flour, then in the egg wash, and finally coat well in the panko mixture. Place coated tenders in a single layer on a plate.
- 3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- 4. Arrange chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C internal temperature).
- 5. While chicken cooks, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 7. Remove cooked chicken tenders from air fryer and toss immediately in the warm sauce until coated.
- 8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 4-6 minutes for best crispiness.
