Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds salmon fillet, skin on or off, as preferred
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 12 lemons)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. 2. Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels.
  3. 3. Place the salmon on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. 4. Bake for 12-18 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. 5. While salmon bakes, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. 6. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  7. 7. Pour in heavy cream and lemon juice. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. 8. Spoon the sauce over the baked salmon.
  9. 9. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftover salmon and sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in a low oven. Avoid microwaving.
