Description

Delicious ground beef cheesesteaks loaded with caramelized onions, peppers, and melted provolone cheese, perfect for a quick family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté for about 3–5 minutes until tender. If using mushrooms, add them after the peppers and onions and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side, add ground beef, and break it apart with a spatula. Cook until no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing for about 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover with a lid, and let it melt for about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise and spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll. Optionally, toast rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with homemade fries or a side salad. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven to retain crunch.
