Description

A comforting and hearty casserole of cheese tortellini, ground beef, and creamy sauces topped with gooey cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 (20 oz) container of refrigerated or frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (24 oz) jar of pasta sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 12 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated or shredded parmesan
  • Seasoning to taste (salt, garlic powder, black pepper, Italian seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with chosen spices.
  4. Drain excess grease, then add tomato sauce and cream cheese, stirring until smooth.
  5. Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the beef mixture until well coated.
  6. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish and sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months and thaw before reheating.
