- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage, cooked and drained
- 10 large eggs, scrambled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until fully browned and crumbly; set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate pan, scramble the eggs, seasoning with salt and pepper until fluffy.
- Unroll the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface and press the seams together, spreading the scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese over the dough.
- Roll the dough up into a log, then slice it into 1-inch rounds, placing each cut side up in a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, gradually add milk, stirring until smooth, and then stir in the shredded cheese until melted.
- Ladle the cheese sauce over the rolls and garnish with parsley or green onions.
Notes
Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for longer storage. To reheat, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
