- 4 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Swiss or cheddar)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup cooked turkey breast, diced (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Place the torn croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, pressing down gently.
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove plastic wrap and bake for 30-35 minutes until set and golden.
- Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley (if desired), and serve warm.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk. Allow to sit for 10 minutes after baking before serving.
