Instructions

- In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in the egg yolks and sugar.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt, then incorporate into the wet mixture.
- Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form; add sugar to achieve stiff peaks.
- Fold the egg whites into the batter gently.
- Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- Beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Once cooled, spread the whipped topping over the cake and add optional decorations like berries.
Notes
For deeper flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of almond extract. Use room-temperature eggs for better aeration.
