Flaky, fluffy biscuits topped with spicy fried chicken and drizzled with sweet hot honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 tablespoons hot sauce (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir until the dough forms. Roll it out and cut into rounds.
- Place the rounds on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Marinate chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs with paprika and cayenne pepper. Dredge marinated chicken tenders in this mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- For the hot honey drizzle, combine honey and hot sauce in a saucepan and heat gently until blended.
- Serve warm fried chicken on top of the biscuits and drizzle with hot honey.
Notes
