Description
A hearty one-pan bake with ground beef, potatoes, and gooey Colby Jack cheese, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

- 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10 or 85/15)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium yellow potatoes (sliced thin)
- 8 oz Colby Jack cheese (freshly grated)
- 10 oz cream of chicken soup
- 10 oz cream of celery soup
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon all-purpose seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup French’s fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Add ground beef to a lightly greased cast iron skillet and break up to evenly layer.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Peel and slice potatoes, then layer on top of the ground beef.
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the potatoes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, milk, all-purpose seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Spoon the sauce over the cheese layer and smooth out evenly.
- Cover with aluminum foil tightly and bake for 90 minutes.
- Remove foil and sprinkle fried onions evenly over the top.
- Broil for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with green onions or parsley and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables. You can store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
