- 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
- 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 3 teaspoons chicken base or bouillon
- 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In the slow cooker, whisk together the chicken base, cream of chicken soup, and water until smooth.
- Gently place the chicken breasts into the sauce and sprinkle your seasoning blend generously over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
- Once done, shred the chicken with two forks.
- Mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water to create a slurry. Add this to the slow cooker and turn the setting to high for 15-20 minutes, until it bubbles and thickens.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the sour cream, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over rice, noodles, buns, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
For best flavor, never skip the chicken base. Adjust seasoning to taste when reheating leftovers.
