A quick and comforting garlic butter salmon recipe, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients

- 4 skinless and boneless salmon fillets (180g/6oz each)
- 1/2 tsp salt (cooking/kosher)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic (about 2 cloves, finely minced)
- 90g / 6 tbsp salted butter (cut into cubes)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (plus more to taste)
- 2 tsp parsley (finely chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon: Take the salmon out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking to let it come to room temperature. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Gently add the salmon with the presentation side down and cook for about 3 minutes until it turns golden brown.
- Flip and Add Butter: Gently flip the salmon and cook on the other side for 1 minute. Toss in the butter cubes.
- Baste the Salmon: Add the minced garlic once the butter has melted. Baste the salmon with the melted butter for about 1.5 minutes.
- Remove from Heat: Check the internal temperature (aiming for about 50°C/122°F) and let it rest for 3 minutes.
- Add Lemon Juice to Butter: Drizzle lemon juice into the remaining butter in the pan.
- Serve: Place salmon on plates, drizzle with garlic butter, and sprinkle with parsley.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika or crushed red pepper flakes.
