- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Green and red sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until a smooth dough forms.
- Gather the dough into a rectangle shape, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips or use a tree-shaped cookie cutter.
- Place pieces on the baking sheet with space in between and sprinkle decorations on top, if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden on the edges.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar if desired.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months separated by parchment paper.
