Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
- Slowly add in the sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in the vinegar and cornstarch.
- Spoon the meringue onto a lined baking sheet and shape it into a large circle or individual rounds. Bake for 1.5 hours until crisp and dry.
- Let the meringue cool completely.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Layer pieces of meringue, sponge cake, whipped cream, and mixed berries in a trifle dish.
- Top with additional whipped cream, berries, and mint leaves if desired.
- Enjoy immediately or chill until ready to serve.
Notes
