Description

A darkly caramelized exterior hiding a delightfully creamy center, this Burnt Basque Cheesecake embraces the beauty of imperfection, making it perfect for both novice and seasoned bakers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and use the middle rack for even baking.
  2. Grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Add the heavy cream and sugar, mixing until light and frothy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Gradually sift in the flour and mix until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is dark golden and the center is slightly jiggly.
  10. Let the cheesecake cool before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
  11. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, refrigerate overnight and allow the cheesecake to cool completely before slicing.
