A delicious avocado toast topped with smoked salmon, fresh dill, and capers, perfect for brunch or a quick lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • Dash of salt
  • 2 ounces smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • A few small stems of fresh dill
  • 10 capers
  • A few thin slices of red onion
  • 2 large slices of bread (or 4 small slices)

Instructions

  1. Cut avocado in half, remove the pit.
  2. Scoop out flesh and mash with a dash of salt and lemon juice. Do not over-mash; leave some texture!
  3. Toast the bread to your preferred level of crispness.
  4. Spread mashed avocado generously onto the warm toast.
  5. Top with capers for a burst of flavor.
  6. Layer with slices of smoked salmon, followed by fresh dill and red onion slices.
  7. Serve immediately to enjoy the freshness and flavors.

Notes

For added flavor, try using different types of bread or adding a poached egg on top.
