Description

A comforting one-pan meal featuring tender cabbage and flavorful ground beef, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 head of cabbage, thinly sliced (about 8 cups)
  • ½ cup shredded carrot
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Green onion slices, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Stir together all the sauce ingredients (coconut aminos, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes) and set aside.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook, stirring until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the grated ginger and minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
  5. Stir in the sliced cabbage, shredded carrots, and the prepared sauce. Cook until the cabbage is wilted, about 5 minutes.
  6. Taste and add salt and/or pepper as needed. Serve warm, sprinkled with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for about a month. Reheat on the stove with a splash of water.
