Description
A hearty casserole featuring flaky crescent rolls, savory ground beef, and melted cheese, all melded together with zesty salsa.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury crescent roll dough
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 cup thick and chunky salsa (or barbecue sauce)
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions, chopped parsley, sour cream, sliced olives, avocado, or guacamole
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Spray an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared dish to form a crust. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease. Stir in salsa until moistened, season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon the beef mixture over the crescent roll dough and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Cut into squares and serve with optional toppings.
Notes
Tip: For a crispier crust, bake the crescent roll dough for 5-7 minutes before adding the filling.
