Description

A hearty casserole featuring flaky crescent rolls, savory ground beef, and melted cheese, all melded together with zesty salsa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup thick and chunky salsa (or barbecue sauce)
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions, chopped parsley, sour cream, sliced olives, avocado, or guacamole

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Spray an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared dish to form a crust. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease. Stir in salsa until moistened, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture over the crescent roll dough and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Cut into squares and serve with optional toppings.

Notes

Tip: For a crispier crust, bake the crescent roll dough for 5-7 minutes before adding the filling.
